About Smorgasburg
Smorgasburg — a mash-up of “smorgasbord” and “Williamsburg” — launched in May 2011, spinning off from the success of the food vendors at the Brooklyn Flea. Since then, it has incubated hundreds of independent businesses serving food and drink from around the world. Many vendors have grown into multi-year staples at the market, while others have gone on to open thriving brick-and-mortar restaurants, packaged goods brands, and other ventures.
Dubbed “the Woodstock of Eating,” by The New York Times, Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in the United States, attracting thousands of visitors each week to enjoy a rotating lineup of the region’s best vendors. It has become a cultural destination, known for launching some of the most recognizable food concepts in the country and creating a space where food, community, and creativity come together.
With markets in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Miami, Jersey City, and soon Atlanta, Smorgasburg continues to expand while staying true to its mission: celebrating local food entrepreneurs and offering guests a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.
